So on Friday a group of friends and I went to Clyde’s to relax after a very stressful day at work. For me, it was one of those days that all you want to do is strangle your boss and all you can think about is getting a drink.

I got there late because of work. But the girls ordered calamari and a crab & artichoke dip, which arrived as I squish through a very crowded bar area to get to the table. I hear that they have a fantastic happy hour. I think it was crowded because next door, at the Verizion Center, there was the Rod Steward concert. Both appetizers were exactly what you expect ... tasty, but nothing spectacular.

I got the New York strip steak, rare, and it came with green beans, and a sweet potato hash. The steak was okay, a little too cooked for me. When I wantrrare, I mean bloody! But it was more of a medium rare, very pink but not too much blood gushing out when you cut into it. The green beans was just the way I like them, bright green, very crunchy, and barely cooked. The sweet potato hash was very lovely. It was a mashed potatoey-cheesy goodness that was deep fried. But for $25, it was good but nothing special.

I tried the dish a friend was having, the lamb curry. I have to say that I didn’t like it at all. It was a very odd combo of mild Indian curry and a random sweetness that came out of no where. It wasn’t like the coconut sweetness of Thai curry, but seriously like someone spilled sugar into the curry. And the lamb was a little tough as well, but I couldn’t really concentrate on it, because the sweetness of a curry that caught me off guard.

Food: C (it was the curry that grossed me out)
Service: B (our waiter was funny, but the service was a bit slow even after the Rod Steward concert crowd left)
Price: B- (You get what you pay for ... I paid $35 for the steak, a part of the appetizer, coke, tip and tax)
Overall: B-
It’s okay, nothing great or special. But it’s one of those DC staple restaurants.

First post of this Blog!

How exciting ... a new blog for me to play with until I lose interest in it. But hopefully because my visits to restaurants and experience with food are soo much more interesting then my usual whining about school, work, relationships, and everything else, I will keep this up. Please if you have any suggestions of anything or anyplace for me to try, send it my way.
